FAQs Skribble
Industries & Use Cases
Can I use Skribble for fixed-term employment contracts and legally valid terminations?
Yes, you can. For fixed-term employment contracts, the simple or advanced electronic signature is often sufficient. For terminations as well as fixed-term contracts within the scope of staff leasing, the law often requires the qualified electronic signature, or QES for short. This is legally equivalent to a handwritten signature.
Do new employees need a Skribble account to sign their contract?
No. You can invite people to sign even if they do not have their own Skribble account.
Do new employees have to pay for identification to sign their employment contract?
No. The costs for signatures and the often associated identifications are usually borne by the inviting company, provided this is configured accordingly in the Skribble Plan.
Is the QES process feasible for external applicants without IT affinity?
Yes. Identification can be carried out simply online via a live video call, for example. This is very user-friendly. Only basic technical equipment such as a camera or smartphone is required.
Is Skribble suitable for staff leasing?
Yes. In Switzerland, Art. 19 AVG prescribes the written form for staff leasing contracts. You fulfill this requirement legally validly with the QES.
Can I track the status of the signature invitation in real time?
Yes. You can see the current status of a document or invitation at any time, for example whether it is still pending or already signed.
Is it possible to have several people sign in a defined order?
Yes. Starting with the "Individual" Skribble Plan, you can easily define a fixed order for signatures.
Am I liable as CEO if I sign digitally?
With the QES, you sign with the legal equivalent of a handwritten signature. Liability corresponds exactly to that in the analog world.
Can signature regulations such as collective signature by two be mapped in Skribble?
Yes. To do this, simply invite several people to the same document. The process is only considered complete when all invited persons have signed.
Are digital signatures recognized by tax authorities in Switzerland?
Documents with QES, such as annual financial statements, are legally recognized. However, the acceptance of specific tax returns depends on the digital interfaces of the tax authorities and not solely on the PDF signature.
What about the duty of confidentiality when uploading client data?
Skribble hosts data at banking level either in Germany or in Switzerland according to ISO 27001. We are not subject to access by the US Cloud Act. This is essential for bearers of professional secrets.
How does Skribble maintain professional secrecy for professions such as lawyers or doctors?
We protect your data through server locations in Switzerland and strict compliance with the FADP and GDPR. There is no inspection by US authorities.
Are digital submissions via Skribble accepted by Swiss courts such as the Zurich courts?
Authority submissions in Switzerland often require a recognized delivery platform and a QES. Skribble delivers the valid QES. However, sending must often take place via the specific portals of the courts.
Is Skribble approved for tendering procedures and awards?
Yes. Public tenders are among the frequent use cases for QES, as the written form is often required here.
Is Skribble GMP-compliant for pharma and medicine?
Yes. Skribble is GMP-compliant according to EU-GMP Annex 11 and Chapter 4. You can find more information on this in our guide on the website.
Costs & Contracts
Is there a "pay-as-you-go" model for low-volume users or one-time signatures?
Currently, there is no such version of Skribble. However, we plan to introduce this in 2026 as a new Skribble Plan. Please contact info@skribble.com if you have any questions.
Does Skribble offer special conditions for NGOs, non-profit associations, or start-ups?
Yes. Skribble offers a 10 percent discount for NGOs. Please contact us via email at info@skribble.com.
Do I pay per uploaded document or per signature performed?
Billing takes place per signature performed. Specifically, this means: If you upload a document that needs to be signed by three people, we charge three signatures to your quota.
How does billing work if several people have to sign the same document?
Each signature performed counts individually. A document signed by five parties therefore consumes five signatures from your Skribble Plan.
Can I mix Skribble Plans, for example 3x Pro for management and Team for the rest of the employees?
In a Business Account, a uniform Skribble Plan always applies to all users. If you want to use different plans, you can create multiple Business Accounts – for example, one for management and one for the team. We manage and bill these accounts separately.
Does my client or business partner have to pay to sign a document?
No. The costs for signatures are borne by the person inviting.
Do unused signatures expire at the end of the month or are they carried over?
That depends on your billing model. In the annual plan, you receive your entire signature quota as a flexible pool for 12 months. This allows you to easily balance out fluctuations in demand. In the monthly plan, the quota is available to you for the current month, and unused signatures expire at the end of the month.
Are identification costs included in the price or do they cost extra?
Basically, the costs for signing are included in your Skribble Plan. However, additional costs are usually incurred for the initial identification, which is necessary once for the QES. These are carried out by certified partners. As a company, you can purchase so-called Identification Packages. This allows you to cover the costs centrally, so that the process is free and barrier-free for your employees or external partners.
Why does the QES often cost extra or require a separate identification?
The law requires a one-time identity verification for the QES, such as the online identification procedure. This causes external costs for the trust service providers.
Does the free trial phase automatically turn into a paid Skribble Plan?
No. No credit card is required for the trial phase, and there is no automatic conversion into a paid Skribble Plan.
Is the annual and monthly Skribble Plan automatically renewed?
Yes, the plans renew automatically. To avoid automatic renewal, please cancel your Skribble Plan before the next billing date. This ensures no further costs are incurred for the following period.
How does the free trial phase work?
You can test Skribble for free for 14 days. This includes the simple, advanced and qualified electronic signature without any credit card. A total of 50 signatures are available to you for the entire test period.
What costs should I expect for Company Branding such as my own logo and design?
Company Branding is an add-on module to the Pro or Scale Plan. The costs for this in the Pro Plan amount to 1,400 CHF or EUR per year. Please contact our sales team at info@skribble.com for a binding offer.

Functions & Workflow

Yes. Use the "Viewer" or "Observer" function when creating the signature invitation.
Can I add a personal message to the recipients of the signature invitation?
Yes. Adding a personal message is possible without any problems.
I made a mistake – can I still edit an invitation that has already been sent?
Yes. You can edit an already sent invitation subsequently.
Can I save signature templates so that I don't have to reposition fields every time?
Currently, Skribble does not yet offer a function on the web platform to save templates with fixed signature positions. You currently have to place the signature fields individually for each document.
Can I sign multiple documents at the same time?
Yes. Skribble offers a batch signature function.
Can I attach appendices like GTCs that do not need to be signed but read?
Yes. Adding attachments is possible from the Team Skribble Plan onwards.
Can I use existing electronic identities like SwissID or Video-Ident accounts for Skribble?
Yes. Skribble is designed openly and supports various identification services. If you or your signature partners already have a verified identity, this can be used directly for the QES. This applies, for example, to SwissID, Mobile ID, or an identification already carried out with one of our partners.
Does Skribble send automatic reminders if someone forgets to sign?
Yes. Starting from the Team Skribble Plan, you can have reminders sent automatically.
Can external signers change the language of the user interface?
Yes. The language can be adjusted. Available are German, English, French, and Italian.
Can I refuse a signature?
Yes. Recipients can refuse to sign.
Does Skribble also work offline, for example on construction sites without Wi-Fi?
No. Since it is a cloud solution, an internet connection is necessary for signing.
Is there a file size limit for uploading?
Yes. Currently, the limit for direct upload via the web platform is 15 megabytes. For larger files, we recommend using our API, which supports up to 100 megabytes per signature request. We are currently examining technical possibilities to further increase these limits. Please feel free to contact info@skribble.com directly regarding specific requirements.
Can special formats like construction plans in A3 or A0 also be uploaded and signed?
Yes. The page format does not matter for the electronic signature as long as the file is available as a PDF. You can therefore also sign large-format plans. Please just note the maximum file size limit for the upload.
Can I customize how the signature looks on the PDF?
Yes. You can create and customize visual signatures, for example by displaying the location, date, or a QR code.
As a company, can we enforce a uniform appearance for all employee signatures?
Yes, that is possible. Please contact us via email at info@skribble.com.
Can I display my own company logo in the email invitations and on the platform?
Yes. You can book "Company Branding" for a fee starting from the Pro Skribble Plan. If you are interested, please contact us at info@skribble.com.

Yes. Upon completion, all parties receive the signed document as a download link or attachment, depending on your setting.
Can I upload and insert an image of my handwritten signature?
Yes. You can upload an image of your signature and place it on the document.
Can we store different company logos for different departments or subsidiaries?

With the e-signature, you consume about half as much CO2 as with the handwritten signature. This is mainly due to the elimination of transport and paper.
